My Wild & Free social co-op had the grand pleasure of taking a field trip to White Hills Farm in Dearing, GA. They are a beautiful lavender farm - and when I say beautiful- I mean like heaven on earth. 😍 As soon as you pull in you feel like all your problems were left at the gate. The home of the couple who owns the farm is the most charming picture book setting as are the store cottage and the grounds. Met by blooming buds of pink blossoms and a porch of tea and water and lavender syrup, our crew was feeling very at home. Amy and Patrick led our group beautifully.
We gathered around amidst the beauty of the farm to learn about pollinators. I learned that ants and flies are also surprisingly pollinators and honey bees are actually not native to North America. So interesting! We split into two groups to do a pollinator scavenger hunt and seed planting. We had the option to plant zinnias, sunflowers, green beans, or marigolds and to take our own little planted seed home! Ours are currently in our garden shed/greenhouse germinating. We can’t wait to see them grow and transplant them into the garden beds after the last frost here.
Thank you sincerely, White Hills Farm for graciously hosting our group and pouring into their minds and hearts!
