Ellie doesn’t remember the total solar eclipse of 2017 - she was only two weeks old. But she will always remember the partial eclipse of ‘24 seen from the Widow’s Walk of Redcliffe Plantation. It was a rare opportunity to go atop the early 1800’s mansion to see a rare event! Ellie, Elias, and myself climbed the stairs and observed the scene with a few others! We have seen the house tour a few times and it is always incredible to experience, but this time we saw a couple spaces we had never seen before. We saw the attic where a few historic relics remained and we saw the beautiful view of the CSRA from the top walk. The rangers at Redcliffe state park are the best and always put on the best events!
Ellie really had fun making crescent shadows and observing the phenomenon. Elias was just happy to be there!
