King Tutankhamen Immersion Exhibit & Michael C. Carlos Museum

We have been so enjoying studying Ancient Egypt as part of our cultural, historical, geographical studies thus far this year. I always love to find a field trip if I can to really bring to life what Ellie has been learning- to make it alive for her. I did a search at random on Google for “Ancient Egypt exhibits near me” and found by amazing luck that in Atlanta currently there is an immersion exhibit on King Tut at the Exhibition Hub Art Center.

So, I text my sister who is in NW GA and we are currently in central East GA and asked her if she could meet us with her kids and we could make a day of it. She was down and suggested also going to the Michael C. Carlos museum which has a beautiful and exquisite Ancient Egypt exhibit and having lunch! So of course we did. And of course, while they are still little and excited to do so, I dressed Ellie and Elias up as Nefertiti and a mummy!! 😅😂

We have been reading some amazing books in this study and doing amazing projects and to see it all come to life - or … should I say…death?? Was amazing. Ellie was able to point out everything because she has so enjoyed this study. It’s beautiful to see the lessons have sunk in.

Here are some photos of our day in Ancient Egypt:
