Timberline Glamping Augusta

Visit Columbia County gifted me with a giveaway package a while back. It included gift cards to local restaurants and for kayak rentals and bike rentals. Truly an amazing family fun pack! The best part of the giveaway was a two night stay at Timberline Glamping Augusta at Wildwood Park.

We stayed in a standard safari tent. This included a super cozy queen sized bed and a bunk bed. The tent was spacious and was equipped with air conditioning, a mini fridge, a keurig with mugs and k cups, linens, and an amazing view of Clark’s Hill lake! Hammocks were hanging from the trees and warm glowing lights were strung from the trees.

We took Ellie with us. Elias happily stayed and had alone time with Mimi and G-Daddy in SC. I wanted the weekend to be all about Ellie and making memories with her. She is such a treasure and a blessing!

We began the weekend with a guided kayak tour so Stallings Island on the Savannah River with Savannah Rapids Kayak Rentals. I used two of my 4 free kayak rental gift cards that Visit Columbia County gifted me. Ellie rode tandem with Eric and I went off solo watching them teamwork it. It was raining but it was so much fun! Stallings Island has wild donkeys and goats. The tour takes you out to feed the donkeys. Unfortunately, with the weather the donkeys didn’t come out but we will try again another time! We still saw lots of beautiful sights! And we saw a beaucoup of river otters! So cool! When we finished the paddle, we went to the glamp site for Cinco de Mayo salsa, guac, and queso, and Eric grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. We snuggled up cozily in the tent snacking and playing board games.

On Saturday, we were awoken by the Clark’s Hill Classic Fishing Tournament- 183 boats took off to compete and we watched them go out while the sun came up sipping our coffee. It was a beautiful pink sunrise and a really fun morning. Later, Ellie and I went on a nature walk while Eric went by the house to get our kayak so we could paddle the lake. She and I played board games and hammocked together. When Eric got back Ellie and I went kayaking and exploring! That was fun and peaceful! Then we packed a lunch and went down to the beach. We played so hard there until we’re ready to grill dinner at the glamping site. We relaxed, played in the dirt and wildflowers, observed baby goslings, and read books together. Eric and Ellie went for a sunset kayak paddle and I went to pray by the lake edge and watch the sunset. Later, Ellie played on the playground. We sat by a fire at the campsite roasting marshmallows and playing giant Jenga.

I had just put Ellie to bed in her bunk when all of a sudden, Eric excitedly pointed out the moon to us! It was the Flower Full Moon and it was incredible! I pulled Ellie out of bed to see it and then she and I took off running in the dark to the boat dock for a closer view! We saw lightning bugs and pretended to be little fireflies as we went back to the glamp site. I tucked her back in and then got cozy with Eric in our bed and thanked God for the blessing of this time and opportunity.

Timberline Glamping Augusta was a much needed respite and blessing to my soul. Core memories were made. If your crew can check it out, do so! It’s so awesome!
