Great Wolf Lodge / Eric’s 40th

Girls, marry the man who when asked how he wants to celebrate HIS big 40th birthday answers with what his child would most enjoy. I swear he is just the sweetest.

We took Ellie to Great Wolf Lodge, LaGrange when I was pregnant with Elias in December’21 for a baby moon for Ellie - a time to spend together before bringing another one into the family. And she FELL IN LOVE.

So when it was time to plan the big 4-0 for our precious man of the house, Eric asked Ellie what she thought he should do - and without missing a beat, “Great Wolf Lodge!” She exclaimed.

Eric booked a few nights there and his parents came too. Elias enjoyed splashing in the water and we all enjoyed the water slides and family time laughing, celebrating, and good food.

For his birthday, GWL gave Eric a cake, balloons, decorated the door, and gave points to use in the arcade. It’s so fun to celebrate Birthdays in our family and especially for this guy who gives us his all, all day, every day with a big ole smile on his face. So much so that even his birthday was intended to bring joy to his daughter. I love him. I love him so dang much.

And at home on his birthday we celebrated! We had so much fun decorating the house with all the “over the hill” things, streamers, caution tape, balloons, just all the things. I let Ellie be in charge of the cake. She chose to make Eric a funfetti cake with pink icing and pink sprinkles. πŸ˜‚ We put 40 candles on it + a 40 and that cake was hot dang it! Eric burned his dang finger twice trying to light that fire hazard! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… The kids made him cards. We made him a spaghetti dinner and made sure we got all the dishes done for him because usually he does that for me! We love him so much and so honored to be the ones who celebrate him all of his life!
