Elias - 10 Months

Two days after turning 9 months, Elias took his first steps and stood solo for quite some time. He has continued to grow in this over the past month. He walks a little with a small step here and there all by himself and stands up on his own for a while now but he hasn’t just taken off in a consistent walk.

Currently, he only has two teeth still. I see some action on those upper gums, however!

He has began waving to people and animals. He babbles a lot telling us the words he can say. This month, he added to his vocabulary with, "night night!" And boy does he love being able to say that. He tells us exactly when he is ready for a nap or bed time, now! Though he has been on a good routine for many months now.

He started saying “clap clap” when he claps his hands and says “up” when he wants to get up.

He can climb the entire staircase with speed and ease (with mommy or daddy right behind to catch of course if need be).

He eats everything. I haven't found anything he won't eat as of yet. And if Ellie doesn't finish her lunch, Elias will!

This past month has been so amazing in the growth of sibling-hood. The two kiddos have always loved and adored one another, something I am so grateful for. But, this month has been extra special because now we are seeing Elias begin to really initiate play with Ellie, interact with her, and the two of them playing contendly together for an hour or more while I stand by and watch and get other things done. The laughter from these two is loud and rapturous.

Elias now recognizes when Eric comes home from work and takes off crawling or scaling furniture to get to him as fast as he can with expressionate joyful sound!

I can't believe in two months we will have a toddler boy! Wow, it really flies by the second time around!
