Pinnacles National Park

We visited the newest and smallest California NP and y’all, it brought big energy! It was so stinkin’ cool!

There are two entrances, East and West. We came in from the East side and we hiked all the trails on that side (though there’s a trail that connects over to the West once at the top of the pinnacles.) We hiked 6.2 miles through caves and unique breathtaking rock formations.

There is a true real cave here but it is closed and it appears this is due to a rock slide. The cave would require headlamp and you would be almost crawling through and among bats. I would have LOVED to do this but it was closed. I’m not sure if it is permanently closed off or not, however.

We hiked to a reservoir and on up, up, up, to High Peaks. It was breathtaking y’all! The wildflowers there were so different and unique. The rocks had rich bold color. Condors were flying about and one swooped right over our heads so close that you could hear the feathers ruffle in the wind!

Here it was hot and sunny (Yay!!!) It was such a unique and fun set of trails! There was something new to discover at every turn! We even watched a rock climber. This spot was a treasure!
