Sequoia National Park + Kings Canyon National Park

We walked among the giants! After backpacking, we drove to Sequoia National Park + Kings Canyon National Park. We stayed in the Wuksuchi Lodge.

We only spent one full day here between the two parks because we were able to see everything in one full day especially with a few of the spots we would have also liked to see being closed still due to the excessive snow.

We climbed Moro Rock which felt like a hill after the previous few days climbing, haha! We hiked the trails in the giant forest to see Tunnel Log, Chimney Tree, and Tharp Tree.we were mesmerized! We saw a black bear in the meadow grazing and we watched joyfully in silence for a while!

We visited the museum and learned a lot about what we were seeing and about the sequoias. It was truly enlightening and interesting!

We walked The Big Trees Trail and again observed another black bear in front of us in the meadow grazing! So beautiful! The trees were fascinating.

We saw General Sherman Sequoia and truly felt tiny next to it. What a blessing to be next to it! These trees are 2,000+ years old!

We then went to Grant Grove in the Kings Canyon National Park and saw the General Grant sequoia. We also walked through the “Fallen Monarch” which was a fallen sequoia that was hollow and was used as shelter for several different people and even horse back before this was a national park. It was inspiring! It was humbling!

Being among these giants was peaceful, lovely, special, and it smelled so very good in the forest! 😍
