Element Restaurant, Easley, SC

For years I drove by this gorgeous abandoned building waiting for someone to bring life back into it's charming walls. One day, I noticed activity happening and I quickly did my research to find that a new restaurant was coming into these beautiful stone walls. Element.

Element is a farm to table restaurant located in the downtown area of Easley, SC. I have been following their social media account on Instagram for forever and just dying to try a meal and/or a cocktail.

My family had photos taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway this past Saturday amongst the bright fall foliage and afterwards were frozen and starving hungry and needed a good meal. Even though we were hungry, nothing coming through Brevard met my fancy so we drove on, imagining we would stop at our usual spots for either a pizza or hibachi to go. Then, I scrolled my instagram account and saw Element's post and got so excited. The featured meal of the night/the special, was a big spaghetti meatball dinner paired with house red wine and garlic bread. I said, Eric...this looks good and I've been dying to go there! So he rushed me down the mountain as it was already late, and got us to Element where upon arrival I felt a happy warmth burning in my heart...it was not heartburn, ha! It was this joy of knowing we were about to experience something wonderfully special. And we did! We walked in like we were walking in to a close friend's charming and warm home. We were warmly greeted at the door and Ellie, our 3 year old,  was permitted to pick out her own crayons to color with at the table. Next, we were escorted to our table which was by the fireplace where a glowing electric fire was lit and it was so pretty and cozy. It truly felt like we were about to have a good dinner in our own home and you can't beat that feeling, as we truly love our own cozy home.

The staff was so incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous. They served us so well and we never wanted for a thing. Our glasses were always full and Ellie was treated so well by the staff as well. It means a lot to me as a mother of a little one to be in such a nice place but to be able to have my child and for her to feel loved and like a blessing to them as well. It again, gave a feeling of a family meal at home but without having to do the work. We could truly relax. We colored with Ellie, discussed our day, and gawked at the beauty of the restaurant.

Then the food came. Oh. My. Dear. Goodness. SO SO SO wonderful. My husband, Eric, and I toasted with our wine, then each started with the garlic bread. Heavenly goodness that bread. It was so warm and buttery melting in our mouths and warming us to our core and setting the perfect tone for the rest to come. We both had the spaghetti special and the meatball was so big and the sauce incredible. A huge heaping helping of pasta and it was just all so incredible. Ellie had what we like to call a "fancy" grilled cheese. The bread was two flat buns with melted cheese and we just really like that and so did she! She got French fries to go with hers and I ate half of them ha! So delicious!!

Then it was dessert time and whenever I see apple pie on a menu, I am totally getting it. Y'all. Son. This apple pie....like I've never had anything like it. It was real. It was truly wonderfully really good. It wasn't overly sweet but still sweet with a gentle tartness, the dough was perfect and the apples delightful. It was given with a side of vanilla bean ice cream and I just want it again right now. When I was pregnant with Ellie, I would crave and consume entire apple pies in one sitting.....oh yeah. So, I love a good apple pie! Ha!! But, they didn't stop with the awesomeness there - they brought me my dessert, but also brought Ellie out her own big scoop of ice cream as a treat!! That just took them to the next level for me. It just shows they care and are family and love oriented and that goes a long long way with the Gladden crew.

The other awesome aspect of this restaurant is that it is a farm to table therefore all the ingredients are fresh and real and changing. The menus change periodically and from what I saw the variety is incredible...I could have actually ordered several other plates and been equally perfectly satisfied. There is something for everyone. You can't be picky here because they are just way too good for even the pickiest eater. All persons could eat here and be happy, all palettes and all ages. I am so happy this is in my town! Get your family and friends out there asap!

They are open Wed.-Sat. 5p-9p.
Address is 200 Russell Street, Easley, SC 29640

I cannot wait to go back. Literally craving it all right now! Thank you, Element. You are so loved and appreciated.

Heart Surgery - Update 2

Time truly is an odd thing. Our time on Earth is short, even if we manage to live 100+ years. We can hardly fathom eternity and the length...
