Eudora Farms

Finally got my family to Eudora Farms today in Salley, SC. 2.5 hours away from the upstate. It was TOTALLY worth the journey. We got up early to get there about an hour after they opened today. I don't love crowds so getting up early is always the best choice for me. And honey, it was worth setting an alarm and the drive, today.

We went to participate in their safari and fall festival. If you've ever grown up going to Hollywild (I am not here to debate your opinions on that subject so move along, sweetie), then you have a general idea of what this safari is like. But better. Or like Hollywild in it's prime many many years ago. (Still love them). Very very fun, exotic, exciting, and just happy! When we arrived, we drove up to the kiosk where we paid $40 for our entire car load to do the safari AND all of the fall festival activities. If you are just going any other time to do just the safari, it is only $20 a car to do the safari. But the Gladdens wanted all the experiences!! We also paid for some food to feed the animals because that is like 75% of the fun of the safari. It is an additional $5 a food bucket. If you start with one and run out, don't fret, they have a refill station halfway through your safari where you can choose to buy another if you so desire. These are the prices to expect. They do take debit as well as cash. So we got our food, got Ellie unbuckled and in the front with us and off we went to feed, pet, snuggle, and even be licked on my cheek by exotic animals! WOOO!! Highland cows, ostriches, and some antelope first greeted us and oh my land, y'all, those ostriches cracked us slap up! They just poke their big 'ole necks in the window and peck, peck, peck at the bucket if you let them and its so stinkin' hilarious! The highland cows were like my babies. I love a cow. Especially these soft fuzzy things! Ellie was just a giggling and squealing and having a blast. We continued on to see camels, llamas, goats, bulls, zebras, and I don't even know what else. The land is beautiful and open and feels really like a bit of a safari! It is a great time!

When we finished the safari, we parked and attended the festival. Ellie rode a pony, we both rode a camel, we all three went into a bird cage and fed birds and that was another hoot! Those birds flocked to Eric like bees to honey! They were all over him. He has the magic touch and is very attractive of course, even to the birds! Ha! They got on our heads, climbed all over us, but they were sweet and cute. Ellie just smiled in the biggest wide eyed wonderment at it all. She really enjoyed the birds and feeding them. We laugh hard here. When we were leaving the birds, Ellie "kissed" one and said, "I love you!" So precious! Then we watched a pig race, played in the corn kernal box, picked pumpkins at the market, and Eric and Ellie got ice cream. I packed my lunch to keep eating healthfully, but there is a great food truck there with some usual options. Ellie got to see a baby camel, pony, lambs, and baby cow. We saw a baby deer and two lemurs as well! Then we ended the day with a wagon ride. We got in the car and Eric drove two passed out sleeping blonde girls home after a very very fun day! Y'all gotta go!

Heart Surgery - Update 2

Time truly is an odd thing. Our time on Earth is short, even if we manage to live 100+ years. We can hardly fathom eternity and the length...
