It is no surprise that my heart holds on to the best local bakery business in the upstate... Tip Top Cake Shop of Easley, SC. Side note: Eric and I tried them by chance on our 2nd anniversary when I was 8 months pregnant just for a dessert post dinner....it was love at first lick. 😂😍 I got a cupcake and Eric a brownie. Since then, we have used the bakery and the awesome family that owns it for many baby showers, wedding showers, birthdays, treats, cupcake building, special theme days, and events for mommy and daughter, daddy and daughter, and a ladies night out! They do and have all the good things and will love you like you are their kin.
So it was a no brainer when shop owner and head baker, Kendall Pomeroy, posted to their Facebook Page an event for a children's cake decorating night: Halloween theme!! We did a Frankenstein cake!! Oh my stars so so so fun, messy (because...do you know my child?!), and yummy!!
We registered ahead of time - follow their facebook page given in the link above to keep up with their events or message them for future dates. We walked in and took our seat and Mrs. Kendall already had two little cakes baked for each child to make their one big cake. She provides you with icing, tools, and accessories to add to your cake. She also ALWAYS has a treat for you to eat. this time it was chocolate cake pops with a ghost ring!! The class lasts about an hour and it is just so fun sitting there following her guidance, talking, eating, making a mess, and learning together. My cakes always go home as the ugliest things because I'm TERRIBLE at cake decorating skills but its the fun that I come for and the bonding with friends or family.
During this event, she played kid's Halloween party music, like "The Monster Mash" and "I Want Candy!" Ellie had fun decorating but most fun licking her spatula. At one point she decided to///get into character...shall we say? She smothered her face with icing and was just so silly. I don't care! She had fun and we were bonding together. The cake was decorated and thankfully it was a monster becasue my skills are ....scary! 😂😂😂😂 We filled Frankenstein's head with beautiful sprinkles and pearl like balls of yumminess. Cutting into that is fun and exciting!
What I also love about these events is the fact you don't have to be good, you just come to have fun and eat cake. These events are all about the experience and the time spent with your loved one. It is intimate and also good for making new friends if you like! It's a down right fun event and it feels as comfortable as being in your own kitchen...which Ellie clearly feels because she just welcomes herself into all the kitchen space of the bakery. Bless. So glad they love us. I've made friendships with this family just by loving the service they provide our community and seriously, they are the actual best.
