Laurel Falls -Sevierville, TN - Trail Guide

Laurel Falls is a must if visiting Gatlinburg! This trail is easy, paved (though, would be a bit bumpy and patchy for strollers and wheelchairs - these things still were seen on the trail and it is possible if needed), and a fast 2.6 miles total.

Address: Type in "Laurel Falls Trailhead, Sevierville, TN" in your GPS. This is located off Old State HWY 73  scenic.

Parking: There is parking on both sides of the highway. There are multiple trails at this location so there is plenty of parking on either side of the road. There is also a large sign on the road stating "Laurel Falls" and you cannot miss it.

Trail details: As stated above, the trail is a total distance of 2.6 miles. It is an EASY out and back. The entire trek in is uphill but not steep. The bright side is that the hike back out is even easier and faster for you. The trail is paved, but there are plenty of patchy spots that would make pushing a stroller or wheelchair possible, yet challenging. I would opt to wear the baby if you have to choose between carrier or stroller. Dog friendly.

We went on a Saturday which I avoid at all costs normally because trails are so much more peaceful in the middle of the week, yet, while there was a crowd, everyone was kind, courteous, respectful, and there was plenty of personal space.

When you do arrive to the falls, there is a short wooden bridge that goes right up to them and carries you over the falls to stand on the other side. Great falls to get up close to and get sweet photos.

After viewing the falls, as you go back across the bridge to begin your descent, look right and go downhill a short distance to see the lower bit  of the falls, climb rocks, and splash cautiously. There is more space here if you plan to pic-nic than up top. There are some beautiful mountain views on this trail. Now is the perfect time to go as leaves are starting to change and its not too hot!

Enjoy!

Time truly is an odd thing. Our time on Earth is short, even if we manage to live 100+ years. We can hardly fathom eternity and the length...
